This app was developed by a member of the YWCA TechGYRLS program. The TechGYRLS® program strives to do many things for girls ages 9 - 14. This is the time in their lives when they are experiencing many changes emotionally, physically and socially. The YWCA's goal is to create a safe environment, where girls can learn the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). TechGYRLS® focuses on these four areas because studies have shown girls tend to fall behind the boys from middle school onto high school. By focusing on STEM the YWCA helps the girls discover or enhance interests in these areas, and hopefully in the future they will be more likely to pursue careers in these fields.
